U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 2018 Environmental Merit

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in New England has led the Environmental Merit Awards Program to honor teachers, citizen activists, business leaders, scientists, public officials and others who have made outstanding contributions on behalf of the region's public health and natural environment. Encore Boston Harbor has revitalized an industrial, underutilized neighborhood, and opened a waterfront along the Mystic River that had previously been fenced off for over a century.

Green Building Initiative's Four Green Globe Distinction 2018

The Wynn Las Vegas earned Four Green Globes from the Green Building Initiative for the creation and operation of environmentally-friendly buildings. This award is the highest certification that can be earned by GBI for building practices that result in energy-efficient, healthier and environmentally sustainable buildings.


Massachusetts Clean Energy Center's Advancing Commonwealth Energy Storage (ACES) Grant
Encore Boston Harbor

The Encore Boston Harbor was awarded a $1.1 million grant by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and Department of Energy Resources (DOER) to build a utility scale battery storage project at the resort. This program targets projects that pilot innovative, broadly replicable energy storage use cases/business models with multiple value streams in order to prime Massachusetts for increased commercialization and deployment of storage technologies.
